| November 13, Bicycle Rodeo, Kissena Park - An afternoon about bicycling - Although it was cool the Pathfinder District Bicycle Rodeo proceeded as planned. The afternoon was spent learning about and competing in events with bicycles. The event was held at the newly renovated Kissena velodrome, one of the few public racetracks in the north east. The afternoon started with clinics on maintenance and safety and soon was followed by competitive events - 100 yard dash - 50 yard slow race - 100 yard slalom - the mile - and a 7 mile trail event along the Greenway. The last Bike Rodeo was held almost 40 years ago. Should this become a popular activity it may become an annual event. |
