Weekend Overnight at Alpine Scout Camp -
June 18, 19 and 20th, 2004.
Our last camping trip of Spring gives the new
members a chance to acquaint themselves
with the troop and camping outdoors before
the troop embarks on its annual two week
summer camp program. This year thirteen
scouts attended along with three adults.
The new members got a chance to see for
themselves what camping with the troop is
all about. They started their day on Saturday
with a hearty breakfast of juice, cereal,
pancakes, corn beef hash and milk.
The morning was somewhat dissapointing
since the climbing area was closed.
However, as they toured the camp and found
the Fort, Ship and Obstacle course they soon
found plenty to do.
A quick lunch of choice, peanut butter, jelly,
cold cuts with cheese and/or tuna salad.
Then it was off to Tallman State Park a late
afternoon swim.
