Wednesday 4/7 Continued - More Air Space
Museum. Then it's on to Arlington National
Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier for the changing of the guard.
We also visit President John F. Kennedy's
and Robert F. Kennedy's grave sites; The
Mast of the USS Maine, the Space shuttle
Challenger and Columbia Memorials and the
Iran Rescue Mission Memorial.
Thursday 4/8 - We get up even earlier to
break camp, pack up and get to Washington
for our last day. Timed tickets to the
Washington Monument are not available so
we hike to the Ellipse and around to the front
of the White House for glimpses of the
structure. Then Lafayette Park and on to
Ford's Theatre and the Petersen House
where Lincoln Died.
We eat dinner on the way back to the base in
Old Alexandria.
