Tuesday 4/6 Continued - We spent a good
deal of time touring the Capitol, visiting the
Old Supreme Court Chamber and the House
of Representative.
A Deli lunch for some and then the U.S.
Supreme Court.
Late day - we realize that we will not make it
back to the base in time for dinner. So, we
stay in town to dine and then proceed to tour
the monuments at night as originally planned.
First, The Jefferson Memorial surrounded by
the blossoming Japanese cherry trees.
As you can see we arrive a little before dusk
and leave as it gets fully dark. The memorial
is located on the south bank of the Tidal
Basin affording us other great views of other
DC landmarks.
