Ten Mile River Scout Camps Take the Triboro Bridge and Major Deegan Expressway N
1481 Crystal Lake Road Continue on I-87 North to Exit # 16 (Route 17 West)
Narrowsburg, NY 12764-4414 Take Route 17 West for 44 miles 
  Exit Route 17 at exit #104 (Monticello Raceway / 17B)
Encourage your son to write.  Follow Route 17B West for 6.7 miles, to traffic light at Whitelake
Postcards and stamps are available at the canteen.  Continue past the traffic light 0.7 miles, make left onto Rte. 55 W
You may wish to mail a letter Thursday or Friday Follow Rte. 55 West for 4.2 miles, make right turn onto Rte. 26 
before he leaves, so that he gets mail  You will see sign  “Ten Mile River Scout Camp”
early in the first week. The individual camps are marked with brown street like signs

Cellular phone service is not available in Camp Aquehonga Make the right turn, up the hill, onto the Camp Road
The switchboard is open 8AM-9PM As you drive, the activities field and rifle range is on your right

We strongly recommend that you DO NOT CALL   
UNLESS it is an emergency. Take upper level of the George Washington Bridge to N.J.
  1st exit off the GW Bridge on your right (Palisades Parkway N)
HOW IT WORKS 35 mi to exit 18, Route 6 West, bear left onto Rte. 6 at the fork
  Follow Route 6 West for six miles to Route 17 West  
Do not expect a call back right away. Take Route 17 West for 44 miles 
Typically a call will come into the central office, a message  Exit Route 17 at exit #104 (Monticello Raceway / 17B)
will be taken and delivered to the scout at his next meal. Follow Route 17B West for 6.7 miles, to traffic light at Whitelake
  Continue past the traffic light 0.7 miles, make left onto Rte. 55 W
Emergency calls are delivered promptly.  Follow Rte. 55 West for 4.2 miles, make right turn onto Rte. 26
  You will see sign  “Ten Mile River Scout Camp”  
However, the camp and the activities are very spread out  The individual camps are marked with brown street like signs 
and it may take a while before the scout is located. Follow Rte. 26, 4.4 miles, “Camp Aquehonga” sign on your right

There is a pay telephone available.  Approximately 125 miles, 3 hour trip
Again, we do not encourage the scouts to call home.  IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT
Writing postcards or letters is the way to go. If you plan to have your son call from camp, he will need a prepaid phone card, (they also sell them at the canteen) During the weekends we spend most of our time off the site. We would have to leave instructions for you on how to find us. To see the camp in normal operation, weekdays are best.
